Tammy Watters

She has been in health care over 30 years. As of now, she works Mon thru Friday @ Oxford Med Plex, which is associated with Regional Medical Center (RMC), when her shift is over, she works for Komfort keepers in Alexandria performing home health care for 2 different patients, 1st one had a severe stroke, she cares for him M-T-W-F 5pm -10pm, 2nd patient is an 83 year old woman, her shift for her is Sat & Sun 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. For both home care patients she prepares meals, does housework, takes them on errands such as shopping or just plain getting out to get some air As you can see, she doesn't have nor take much time for herself. She doesn't do it for the money but loves helping people. Even thru these times of COVID 19 she has NOT skipped a day even though there is no "incentive" pay, even though others have taken leave of absence or other types of leave with or without pay. She is highly respected both places she works. I feel this remarkable woman deserves a big thank you from all of us and her patients. One last note.....she has had these two jobs for about 4 years now and has never taken a day off unless absolutely necessary. I do not think many people would be willing to give up so much of their time for so long for the sole purpose of helping others enjoy a better standard of life.
